Tim Sherwood thinks Tottenham Hotspur might now have neutral supporters because of Ange Postecoglou.
In recent years, whilst Tottenham have had trophy-winning managers in their dugout, their style of play could put you to sleep.
That’s why Tim Sherwood is glad that the ‘cloud has been lifted’ with Ange Postecoglou bringing an exciting style to the club – John McGinn shared his thoughts and the ‘nonsense’ he is hearing.
Whether Spurs are playing Manchester City away, Sheffield United at home or they are down to nine men, they won’t change for anybody under this new manager.
That’s why, for the first time, Tim Sherwood thinks that those from the outside now have a ‘second team’ in Tottenham, as he told Soccer Saturday on Sky Sports (25/11/23 at 1:25 pm).
No manager had picked up more points in his first ten Premier League games than Postecoglou, and after a few blips in recent games, they will be looking to pick things up again on Sunday against Aston Villa.
Tottenham under Ange Postecoglou
“What we have is a manager in Ange Postecoglou who will only play one way,” says Sherwood.
“He has told us that. He is quite clear in his statements. Play on the front foot. I think he is right when it’s 11 v 11. I have my question marks when you go down to nine men and you want to play on the halfway line.
“I really like it. A cloud has been lifted at Tottenham. It has been boring to watch over the last three or four years, and now it’s not. You have a manager who wants to play on the front foot. The fans want to come back to watch Tottenham.
“They never had neutral fans Tottenham, ever. I think they have neutral fans now. I think there are people who have a second team and that might be Tottenham now because of Ange Postecoglou.”

Tottenham v Aston Villa
This is a big one. Spurs know they will be without a few key players, including their main centre-back pairing – Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero.
As a result, it seems as though Eric Dier and Ben Davies will start at the heart of the defence – Michael Dawson has shared his worry.
Both of these sides like to push up the pitch, play on the front foot, take high risks and, as a result, score goals galore.
Expect more of the same because this fixture is one the neutrals might just enjoy.
