Tim Sherwood shared his doubts on reported Tottenham Hotspur target Sergio Reguilon on The Kelly & Wrighty Show.

The former Tottenham manager suggested that the Real Madrid left-back is an unknown, as he has not played in the Premier League before.

According to The London Evening Standard, Reguilon is flying to London today to complete a move to Spurs.

The left-back – who spent the 2019-20 campaign on loan at Sevilla – will cost £27 million in transfer fee and has already completed his medical in Madrid, according to the report.

Sherwood said about Reguilon on The Kelly & Wrighty Show: “We don’t know if he is any good. It’s all right bringing these names in from foreign countries where there have never played in the Premier League.

“This is the toughest league in the world, and it might take him 18 months to settle, he might have a new manager.”

Good signing for Tottenham Hotspur?

While one can understand Sherwood’s scepticism, it must be noted that Reguilon is a very good and promising young left-back who had a very good season in 2019-20.

The 23-year-old helped Sevilla finish in the top four of the La Liga table and also won the Europa League.

According to WhoScored, the Spain international left-back scored two goals and provided four assists in 31 La Liga matches, and scored one goal and provided one assist in six Europa League games for Sevilla last season.
