Tim Sherwood has claimed that Christian Eriksen would ‘improve’ Tottenham if he re-signed for the club.
The former Spurs boss added by saying that the current Brentford star is a ‘wonderful’ player who is one of the ‘fittest’ and ‘most determined’ he has ever worked with.
Over the weekend, Spurs dropped points in their race to secure Champions League football when they recorded a goalless draw against Brentford.
Eriksen, who has won five out of the six games he has started for Thomas Frank’s side, played the entire game and was then given an ovation from the away fans during and after the match.
Sherwood has worked with the Denmark international before and saw him thrive in north London during his many years at the club, as he was asked if he would want the player to return, this is what he told Sky Sports Football.
“Yes, I think he is capable of doing that,” said Sherwood. “The Brentford fans must be pinching themselves thinking they have got a player of this quality.
“Yes, they gave him the opportunity to come back to the Premier League. He’s such a good type. A wonderful player. One of the fittest boys I ever worked with. One of the most determined as well.
“He is a good example to all the young boys around. He could play for Man United and improve their midfield. Play for Tottenham and improve.
“The only thing I would say on the Tottenham side is that he went to Inter Milan and he started 31 games under Antonio Conte in two seasons, so for me, Christian wants to play – I think now he will want to go where he can play on a regular basis. I think he will factor that in. Will he be loyal to Brentford? Possibly. That’s the nature of the boy.”

Ironically enough, with Eriksen on the other side, it was proven over the weekend that Spurs need the Dane back in their team.
If the 30-year-old was playing for Antonio Conte’s side against Brentford, then they probably would have walked away with all three points.
Not only would he provide that creativity, quick-thinking ability and extra dimension in the middle of the park for the club.
But he would also help out Harry Kane’s game and allow him to focus his game in the final third, rather than having to constantly drop back and play the role of Mr Playmaker.
That’s probably why rumours are circulating that Conte, who signed him up for Inter from Spurs in 2019, wants a re-union with the playmaker, as reported by iNews.
