Tim Sherwood has stated that Harry Kane would have been ‘shocked’ that Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg passed the ball forward during Tottenham’s 3-1 win over West Ham United on Sunday, as he told Premier League Productions (20/03/22 at 7:00 pm).
Whilst Spurs put three goals past their London rivals, Kane didn’t get on the scoresheet during the game and Sherwood says he will have the ‘hump’, as a result of that.
But, when the game was nearing its conclusion, Kane did have a big chance to put a goal to the two assists he provided to Heung-Min Son.
It was Hojbjerg who provided a lovely dink over the top for the Englishman, who made a great run off the ball to lose his marker, but his shot blazed well over the bar.
Sherwood questioned why Hojbjerg doesn’t pass the ball forward on more occasions when he can produce moments such as that.
“I think he was shocked that Hojbjerg actually passed the ball forward,” said Sherwood.
“If you can pass the ball like this Hojbjerg then you should do this more often. This little dink over the top, I think Kane is shocked that he has found him in that spot.
“Kane will be disappointed (at the miss). I tell you now, Kane will not sleep tonight after missing that chance.
“Sonny talked about it in his interview ‘we scored three goals and he hasn’t scored one’. He will have the hump tonight.”

For once, Spurs have stopped their barren run of winning, then followed up that game with a defeat.
The problem with that is they are now on an international break, so from that perspective, it’s come at the wrong time.
Either way, they have dealt West Ham a punch that may have now knocked them out of the race for the top four.
And it might just be a case of Arsenal, Manchester United and Spurs all now battling for that all-important Champions League spot.
