Manchester United may need a left back – and Tim Sherwood wants to see them move for Danny Rose.

Pundit Tim Sherwood has told Sky Sports’ The Debate that he thinks Manchester United need a player like Tottenham’s Danny Rose – and would recommend paying a premium to land him.
Rose, 27, joined Spurs from Leeds United way back in 2007, and whilst he started his career as a left winger, he has developed into one of the top left backs in Europe.
The England international has thrived for Tottenham since Mauricio Pochettino’s appointment back in 2014, with his pace and rampaging runs up the left flank becoming a major factor in Spurs’ style of play.

Rose has been missing through injury since January, but that didn’t stop him from making controversial comments to The Sun last month about his desire to earn more money and possibly make a move back up north.
Those comments have sparked suggestions that Manchester United could make a move for the Doncaster-born defender, given that Jose Mourinho hasn’t been able to settle on a left back this term.
Daley Blind, Matteo Darmian and Ashley Young have all featured at left back inside the first few weeks of the campaign, whilst Luke Shaw is attempting to prove himself to Mourinho after a disappointing campaign last term.

Rose’s pace and attacking ability make him perfect for United, whilst his desire to return to the north also makes United a seemingly ideal destination – and former Spurs boss Tim Sherwood has offered his thoughts on the situation.
Sherwood has told Sky Sports’ The Debate that he thinks United could be willing to pay a premium to land Rose, and would recommend that they do snap up the Tottenham star, claiming he is the best left back in the country.
“I think Danny Rose is the best left back in the country,” said Sherwood. “Someone like Manchester United are crying out for that sort of player. They would pay premium money for that, and I would recommend that they do,” he added.
