Tottenham Hotspur have been one of the entertainers of the Premier League this season, after previously boring themselves and the opposition to sleep.

Ange Postecoglou rightfully deserves praise for the turnaround in Tottenham’s style because he has brought life and no fear into this previously-defensively-minded team.

But whilst the Spurs boss gets plaudits left, right and centre. Those part of his coaching staff also deserve the spotlight.

One of them is Chris Davies, a managerial target for Championship side Swansea City, a man who is ‘very diligent’ according to Tim Sherwood, as he told Sky Sports

The former Tottenham boss shared that he knows Chris Davies ‘very well’ and that he worked alongside the 38-year-old when doing his Pro License.

As mentioned above, Spurs are playing some of the best football in the country and attack-minded football is demanded by the fans.

The same could be said for Swansea City, who also have it in their DNA to play the pretty stuff, with their biggest success coming under Brendan Rodgers over a decade ago.

Chris Davies was part of the now-Celtic boss’s coaching staff, starting pretty young at the age of 25, so he has since accumulated a lot of miles on the training pitch.

Chris Davies and Swansea City

“They lose a very good coach,” said Sherwood about Chris Davies’ future. “Very experienced at this level as well. He worked with Brendan Rodgers as well for numerous years.

“Very diligent. He was on my pro license. I know Chris very well. Diligent in his approach. Fine details on the training pitch. Obviously, takes notes from Postecoglou on how he wants to set-up the team and he puts sessions on to accommodate.

“I think he has done a brilliant job. He would be a big miss. I am not sure how many sessions Posecoglou takes himself. He certainly sets the blueprint for the coaches and Ryan Mason is there as well.

“It all depends on whether he wants to take that opportunity or not. He has been at Swansea before with Brendan Rodgers. It’s an opportunity to dip your water into that merry-go-round.”

Tottenham back to winning ways

After losing key players to injury, Spurs went on a pretty rough run, including losing to the likes of Chelsea and Aston Villa.

But they are now back to winning ways after beating Nottingham Forest on Friday – Paul Merson lauded Dejan Kulusevski.

The only blip or annoyance from that game, if you are a Spurs fan, is how the players just can’t stop shooting themselves in the foot.

For the second time this season, Yves Bissouma was sent off, so he now misses four Premier League matches.

The issue here is that the Mali international is also set to fly out to take part in the Africa Cup of Nations in January, so Spurs fans won’t see him properly until February now, which is just another slap in the face.
