Tim Sherwood has told BT Sport that he loves Liverpool defender Andrew Robertson.

The former Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa manager seems to have been hugely impressed with the performances of Robertson so far this season.

Sherwood told BT Sport about Robertson: “He looks like a boy who really takes on instructions really well and does whatever the manager asks of him. He sets the tempo as well. On the closing down, he’s the first one to go. I love him.”

Bargain signing

Robertson joined Premier League club Liverpool from Championship side Hull City in the summer of 2017.

According to BBC Sport, the Reds had to pay Hull an initial transfer fee of £8 million in order to secure the services of the 24-year-old left-back.

The Scotland international defender earns £50,000 as salary at Liverpool, according to The Express.

Robertson did not instantly establish himself in Jurgen Klopp’s starting lineup, but the former Dundee United star is clearly now the first-choice left-back at Anfield.

The defender has featured in 18 Premier League matches for Liverpool so far this season, providing three assists in the process.

The former Celtic prospect has proved to be a bargain signing for Liverpool, and if he continues to improve under manager Klopp, then it will be frightening for opposition teams.
