Leeds United, Sheffield United and Norwich City are aiming for automatic promotion to the Premier League.

The race for automatic promotion to the Premier League at the end of the season is hotting up, with Leeds United, Norwich City and Sheffield United all in the running for the two spots.
Norwich are at the top of the Championship table at the moment with 87 points from 43 matches, five points clear of Yorkshire clubs United and Leeds, who are second and third respectively in the standings.
With just three more rounds of matches left this season, it seems that the race for automatic promotion to the Premier League will go down to the wire and could be decided on the final day.
Former Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood has given his prediction on the promotion race, and has backed Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds and Norwich to finish in the top two.
Gary Rowett, who has managed Derby County and Stoke City among other clubs in his career so far, believes that there is less pressure on the Blades than there is on Leeds and Norwich.

Sherwood said on The Debate show on Sky Sports Football on Friday night (10:34pm, April 19, 2019): “I would love to see Chris Wilder go up automatically. I feel that Leeds will leapfrog them and go up automatically with Norwich.”
Rowett said on The Debate show on Sky Sports Football on Friday night (10:33pm, April 19, 2019): “Maybe the pressure is less on Sheffield United in some ways because Leeds have been so good all season and everyone expected them. With Bielsa they created so much publicity.
“Norwich, everyone thought they had virtually done it, so maybe Sheffield United are the ones who have just kept going and shown more consistency than the other two in the last few weeks.”
