Tim Sherwood has said on Premier League Productions that Arsenal will not win against Manchester United if they face each other in the Europa League final.

Premier League rivals Arsenal and United are in the semi-finals of the Europa League this season.

The Red Devils got the better of AS Roma 6-2 at Old Trafford in the semi-finals on Thursday evening.

As for Arsenal, Mikel Arteta’s side went down 2-1 to Villarreal away from home in Spain in the first leg of their semi-final tie on Thursday evening.

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Sherwood believes that Arsenal will go past Villarreal, but he does not expect the Gunners to win against United in the final.

Sherwood on Premier League Productions, as transcribed by Metro: “I would put my money on them going through against Villarreal, I think they’re capable of doing that, I think they can score at the Emirates.

“Can they beat Man Utd in the final? Not on the evidence of what we’ve seen this season.”

Can Arsenal win the Europa League final?

The away goal that Arsenal scored in Spain is a massive advantage for the Gunners, who can win the second leg and book their place in the final of the Europa League this season.

Of course, it is not going to be easy to win against Unai Emery’s side, but Arsenal fans should be confident.

However, winning against United in the final is going to be extremely tough. The Red Devils are likely to finish second in the Premier League table and have a better squad than Arsenal.

The big motivation for the Gunners will be to play in the Champions League. Although the Red Devils will want to win a major trophy this season, Arteta and his players will be more desperate in the final, if they go that far.
