Tim Sherwood has praised hat-trick hero, Jack Harrison, as a ‘good player’ after he helped Leeds United beat West Ham United 3-2 on Sunday afternoon, as he told Premier League Productions.
The former midfielder claimed that Leeds ‘missed’ their 25-year-old winger recently because he was ‘on the missing list’ himself, in terms of performances, during the early part of the campaign.
It was a historic and memorable hat-trick for Harrison and a much-needed three points for a Leeds side who were hit with even more injuries at the London Stadium.
The injury list Marcelo Bielsa has had to deal with is problematic enough, but he had to contend with both Junior Firpo and Adam Forshaw going off within one minute of one another in the first half.
Despite that, Leeds kept their foot on the accelerator, as they always do, throughout the match, as Sherwood stated that the Whites proved why everyone wants them in the Premier League.
“He’s a good player, Harrison,” said Sherwood. “They have missed him. I think during the early part of the season, he was on the missing list.
“They just kept coming. You never see a bad game with Leeds. That’s why we want to see them in the Premier League. West Ham kept coming as well. They are made of different stuff these days.
“You think at 2-2, West Ham are going to win it, but you can never write off Leeds.”
These are massive three points for Leeds and further proof why Bielsa is admired by many across the footballing world.
Whilst others have had games postponed for less, Bielsa isn’t complaining, and instead, is throwing his youngsters into the action.
Perhaps others can learn because they are proving that games can be played even if your squad is depleted.
There aren’t many teams in the Premier League, apart from probably Leicester, that are in such an injury-rocked state than those from Yorkshire.
