Tottenham Hotspur are right in the mix in the race for the Premier League title.
Tim Sherwood shared his belief that Tottenham can win the Premier League title this season, when speaking during a guest appearance on Sky Sports’ The Debate programme last night, insisting that his former club can win every single game between now and May.
Spurs currently sit in third place in the Premier League table, five points adrift of league leaders Manchester City and second placed Liverpool, but they are arguably the most in-form side out of the top three.
Tottenham deserve great credit for hanging around in the race for the title, considering that they have been without their two most important players – Dele Alli and Harry Kane over the past few games.
And Sherwood told The Debate how Spurs can go all the way this season, as long as they don’t drop any more points in their remaining 13 league fixtures:
“I still think Tottenham are in the race as well, they’re only five points off of it. You have to put them in it but they would have to win every single game and not drop any points. They have to go away to Liverpool, away to Man City, away to Chelsea so they have difficult games. I believe they can win every single game. Those three games, they can win and they’ll be massive games, cup finals in fact. If they win them, they win the league.”
Next up for Tottenham is a home game against Leicester in the Premier League, before they play host to Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.
They then face back-to-back away games against Burnley and Chelsea respectively, and should they take maximum points from those games, the Spurs fans really will start to believe that this season could be their year.
