Tim Sherwood gives his opinion on Tottenham Hotspur youngster Marcus Edwards

Marcus Edwards is regarded as one of the most exciting talents at Tottenham Hotspur.

Tim Sherwood has told Squawka’s Facebook page, in a live question and answer session with Football Manager, that he loves Tottenham Hotspur youngster Marcus Edwards.

There is a great deal of talk around Edwards’ future at White Hart Lane, as he has impressed so much at development squad level.

The 18-year-old forward looks to be one of the most exciting talents currently breaking through in English football.

And Sherwood admits that he is enthused about Edwards’ future, even though he needs to make some improvements.

“Marcus is a very acquired taste. I love him to death,” Sherwood said.

“He’s 5ft 5inch, technically gifted, left footed. Hopefully he gets a little bit more zip when he grows. He’s under match rated at the moment.

“He’s a difficult one for Tottenham to loan out to League One, because you don’t see many players of that size in League One and the ball will be over the top of him all the time.”

Edwards is a player who Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino rates very highly, and he has already been given some first-team opportunities.

Edwards has been training with the senior squad since the start of the season, and made his first-team debut against Gillingham in the EFL Cup earlier this campaign.

The Spurs youngster is currently fighting his way back from injury, but could feature again before the end of the season.

Tottenham are next in action at the weekend, when they take on Middlesbrough at White Hart Lane.
