Tottenham Hotspur are gearing up for their final game at White Hart Lane, which will be held against Manchester United on May 14.

Spurs are holding a day of celebration, which will involve a ‘legends parade’.

Former managers and players are being invited to the event, but the club are being selective.

The Times report only five former managers of recent times are being invited, with Mauricio Pochettino’s predecessor Tim Sherwood not included on their list.

It is claimed David Pleat, Terry Venables, Glenn Hoddle, Martin Jol and Harry Redknapp are the quintet who have been invited to take part in the ceremony.

Ossie Ardiles made an appearance at White Hart Lane this past weekend because he was unable to make the event on the 14th.

Sherwood’s attendance can’t be totally ruled out, but given his tense relationship with club chairman Daniel Levy, his absence from the list is not entirely surprising.

Sherwood managed Spurs between December 2013 and May 2014, before being sacked so the club could appoint Mauricio Pochettino.

Irrespective of Sherwood’s lack of success elsewhere, the decision has been a good one with Pochettino transforming Spurs into a major Premier League force.
