Tim Sherwood does not buy Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino’s excuse about Christian Eriksen

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has attributed Christian Eriksen’s poor form to the midfielder being tired.

Tim Sherwood has told The Debate, which was broadcast on Sky Sports on 30th November, that he doesn’t agree with Mauricio Pochettino’s comments suggesting that Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen is tired.

Pochettino suggested that Eriksen’s poor form of late was down to him being slightly fatigued, as covered by ESPN.

But Sherwood insists that Eriksen is the fittest player he’s ever seen.

The former Spurs boss said: “I’m hearing the boy is tired. He’s not tired. The boy is the fittest boy I’ve ever seen.”

Eriksen was guilty of missing a golden opportunity during Tottenham’s last match, as Pochettino’s side lost to Leicester City.

The 25-year-old saw the ball drop to him just six yards out from goal, but he completely skewed his shot.

Tottenham went on to lose 2-1 to Leicester, in what has been a very damaging defeat for Pochettino’s side.

Tottenham are currently in seventh place in the Premier League table, and their hopes of making it into the top four are now in doubt.

Spurs are next in action at the weekend, when they take on Watford at Vicarage Road.
