Former Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood compared Everton summer signing Idrissa Gueye to Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante on the Goals on Sunday show on Sky Sports 1 on Sunday morning (broadcast from 11:30am, September 18, 2016).

Gueye joined Premier League club Everton from Championship outfit Villa in the summer transfer window.

According to The Guardian, the Toffees had to pay the Villans a transfer fee of £7.1 million in order to secure the services of the 26-year-old defensive midfielder.

Kante also moved to Chelsea in the summer, signing from Premier League champions Leicester City.

According to BBC Sport, the London club had to pay a transfer fee in the region of £30 million in order to sign the 25-year-old France international midfielder.

Sherwood, who worked with Gueye at Villa last season, has spoken highly of the Senegal international midfielder.

“He has got great attitude, work ethic is fantastic, similar to Kante, and I think he is playing in the correct position with someone like Gareth Barry who manages the game,” said Sherwood about Gueye on the Goals on Sunday show on Sky Sports 1 on Sunday morning (broadcast from 11:30am, September 18, 2016).

“I am seeing Kante play at the moment, I am seeing him play with Matic in midfield, and they are doing a similar job.”
