Will Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette and Nicolas Pepe start for Arsenal in their North London clash against Tottenham Hotspur?

Tim Sherwood has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur’s dressing room will not want to see Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette and Nicolas Pepe starting for Arsenal when the teamsheets come in before kick-off.

Last season, the Arsenal supporters were calling for Unai Emery to start both Aubameyang and Lacazette on a more regular basis, but the summer signing of Pepe has seen him added to that list now also.

With Tottenham’s defensive problems heading into the North London derby, the attacking trio starting would cause Mauricio Pochettino’s side no end of problems.

Former Spurs manager Sherwood shared his thoughts on Arsenal’s devastating trio, as he defended Pepe and his early performances.

“I would play them all as a front three,” Sherwood told Premier League on YouTube. “I’d play Pepe off the right, Aubameyang on the left and Lacazette’s down the middle. I think they’re capable.

“If I’m in Tottenham’s dressing room on Sunday when that teamsheet comes in, I don’t want to see all of these three on the pitch because I think if you do you are letting them off the hook. I think they are capable of playing together.

“I think he’s getting unfair criticism. We have only seen a cameo of him, Pepe. They are saying, ‘Oh, he’s so one-footed’. There’s no more one-footed player in the league than Mo Salah and look how devastating he can be, so give the kid a break.”

This is a great opportunity for Unai Emery to start all three players in the game and with the fixture being played at the Emirates Stadium that might just happen.

Added with that, Spurs are yet to keep a clean sheet this season and during their last away fixture, they conceded 30 shots on goal as they somehow walked away from their clash against Manchester City with a 2-2 draw.

Pochettino will be well aware that his team has to improve at the back, else Arsenal’s attacking line will pick them off at will on Sunday afternoon.
