Tim Sherwood told Optus Sport on Premier League Productions that Harry Kane was ‘frustrated’ with Sergio Reguilon during Tottenham’s 2-2 draw with Everton on Friday.
It was another game where Tottenham took the lead, but failed to walk away with all three points, with Everton’s comeback starting with Reguilon giving away a penalty.
The Tottenham left-back, who was rushing into the middle of the penalty area and on the wrong side of James Rodriguez, made a seemingly rash challenge, which was punished.
Joleon Lescott was critical of Reguilon’s for making the challenge, before Sherwood shared his thoughts on the matter.
“It’s a poor decision,” said Lescott. “Yes, you can see the initial intent to get back is right. But trying to tackle the ball on the wrong side in the box. Just get yourself goal side and prevent the shot. It’s a strange one.
“He’s (Kane) frustrated,” said Sherwood. “I mean, it was a poor decision from Reguilon. Unfortunately, it’s like most of the wide defending players Tottenham have, they are always better going forward.
“Defensively, they leave a lot to be desired and that was a rash decision there. Jose is having a word with him going in. I am not sure it was about that incident.”

Whilst it was more dropped points for Tottenham – more than any other team in the Premier League this season – it’s Kane limping off that will worry the fans the most.
With the League Cup final looming, the Champions League places slipping away from Jose Mourinho’s men, Kane’s potential absence might prove to be the last act of the Portuguese’s reign in North London.
This Tottenham side was conceding goals for fun, in trouble and declining before Mourinho arrived.
But at the end of the day, somebody has to take the hits and it may just prove to be him at the end of the campaign if targets aren’t met.
