Tim Sherwood believes Tottenham Hotspur will start Heung-Min Son against Juventus

Tottenham Hotspur are due to take on Juventus in the Champions League on Wednesday evening.

Tim Sherwood has told Goals on Sunday, which was broadcast on Sky Sports on 4th March, that he believes Heung-Min Son will start for Tottenham Hotspur against Juventus on Wednesday evening.

Son was dropped for the first-leg of the Champions League tie in Italy, with Erik Lamela taking his place.

However, Son scored twice for Tottenham in their match against Huddersfield Town yesterday.

And Sherwood feels that the fact that Mauricio Pochettino decided to take the South Korean off, while he was on a hat-trick, was a signal that he will be starting against Juve in midweek.

“Son came off, and he was on two goals, but in a weird sort of way he’ll be pleased to have seen his number come up because that tells me he’s going to play in the Champions League,” Sherwood said.

“If I’m Son I’m delighted to see my number come up, because that means I’m going to play in one of the biggest games of the season. He’s resting him for that game, surely.”

If Son does start against Juventus, it will perhaps be an indication that Spurs are not content to sit on their slender advantage in midweek.

Tottenham drew 2-2 in Italy, which means that a 0-0 scoreline in midweek would put them into the next round.

Lamela would have offered Spurs more defensive stability from the front, but if Son starts, then Pochettino will clearly be setting his side up in an attacking system.

Juventus head into Wednesday’s match at Wembley on the back of a 1-0 victory over Lazio, with Paolo Dybala bagging a last minute winner.
