Tottenham Hotspur are set to sell Kyle Walker to Manchester City in the near future.

Tim Sherwood has told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast, which was broadcast on TalkSPORT on 14th July, that Kieran Trippier is the biggest winner of Kyle Walker’s move to Manchester City.

Walker is expected to join City in the very near future, in a deal worth around £50 million according to BBC Sport.

And Sherwood claims that the main beneficiary from the transfer has to be considered to be Trippier.

“The teams which will bid £50 million are going to be the teams that are going to be bidding,” Sherwood said.

“I’m sure Daniel would back Pochettino and say that if you want him at your football club, we’ll keep him here. But it’s too far gone now.

“It’s good for all parties. It’s good for Kyle Walker, I think Tottenham have got a great sum of money, and Man City have got a great attacking right-back. It’s something they haven’t had.

“The real beneficiary here is the boy at Tottenham, Kieran Trippier. He’s going to play every game now.”

Trippier has been in direct competition with Walker ever since he moved to Tottenham two years ago.

The former Burnley man found it hard to break into Spurs’ team, but towards the back end of last season he finally forced Walker out of Pochettino’s starting line-up.

Trippier is now set to be offered a new long-term contract at Tottenham, and looks likely to be first choice next term.

Tottenham have also been linked with Porto right-back Ricardo Pereira in the London Evening Standard.
