Aston Villa are expected to be busy over the summer, as they target a number of new players.
Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood has told the Daily Mail that he intends to get his business completed early this summer.
Sherwood knows that he needs to add quality to Villa’s team if he is to move them up the Premier League table and he feels that he will have funds to spend.
The Claret and Blues are aiming to bring in talented players over the summer and Sherwood intends to have all his new recruits on board in the near future.
“There is a lot of work to be done and what we do between now and the summer will be crucial to how we perform next season,” he said.
“We can spend if I can justify it to the owners. I need to get to work. You can’ t wait around for anything or you miss your targets.”
It could be crucial for Villa to have their new signings in early, as Sherwood will be looking to use pre-season to help the squad fully adapt to his methods.
Although the Midlands side have already improved under his leadership, he will really be looking to shape the side over the summer.
With Villa expecting to have such a high turnover of players it will be crucial that everyone has time to settle in ahead of the new campaign.
Villa only narrowly avoided relegation this term and the task for Sherwood will be to get them competing at the other end of the table next year.
