Tim Krul comments on Brighton move from Newcastle

Tim Krul joined Brighton and Hove Albion from Newcastle United in the summer transfer window.

Tim Krul has suggested to The Argus that he made the right decision in leaving Newcastle United for Brighton and Hove Albion.

Krul initially joined Brighton on a season-long loan deal from Premier League rivals Newcastle in the summer transfer window.

In September, that loan deal was made permanent, bringing to an end the Dutch goalkeeper’s 12-year association with the Magpies.

The 29-year-old Netherlands international has suggested that he made the right decision in leaving the Magpies for the Seagulls.

Krul told The Argus: “From what I’ve seen so far, 100 per cent. The facilities, the set up, the people, I could not have made a better decision, not only because it is six degrees warmer!”

Krul is a good goalkeeper, but the Dutchman was not going to get games at Newcastle if he had remained at St. James’ Park.

Interestingly, the former Newcastle custodian has yet to make an appearance in the Premier League so far this season.

Australia international goalkeeper Mathew Ryan, 25, is the first-choice goalkeeper at Brighton at the moment, having played 11 times in the Premier League this season.

Like Newcastle, Brighton won promotion from the Championship at the end of last season.
