Newcastle United goalkeeper Tim Krul was sent out on loan this season.

Tim Krul has admitted to the Shields Gazette that he is excited to return to Newcastle United.
Krul has been sent out on loan this season from Newcastle to AZ Alkmaar.
The goalkeeper became a key part of AZ’s first-team during his time in Holland.

But he is now set to return to Newcastle, and his comments suggest that he could stick around at St. James’ Park.
“It’s been a while – I’m looking forward to going back there after completing my loan at AZ,” Krul said.
“I’ve been at Newcastle for 11 seasons. It’s part of my life – a massive part of my life.
“My wife is from Newcastle. My little girl was born in Newcastle. “I’ve got more links to Newcastle than just football. That’s something to be massively proud of.”

Will Krul stick around?
It is currently unclear whether Newcastle still give Krul another chance next season.
Krul was Newcastle’s first choice stopper, but after picking up an injury he slipped down the pecking order.
Karl Darlow was Newcastle’s number one last campaign, but there are still some doubts over whether he will remain Benitez’s first choice stopper this time around.
If Krul is put up for sale, there are unlikely to be a shortage of suitors, as the Dutch goalkeeper’s quality remains undoubted.
