Tim Iroegbunam has told Aston Villa supporters ‘this is just the start’, as he posted on Instagram.

The former West Brom academy product made his Villa debut on Saturday when he helped his side beat Brighton 2-0 – and he will be hoping for more minutes against Southampton this Saturday.

Added with that, Villa fans will be hoping that Iroegbunam signs on the dotted line and extends his stay at the club because he has a deal until 2024.

But, in the meantime, this is what the midfielder posted on Instagram:

Aston Villa are looking for that defensive-minded midfielder to eat things up in the middle of the park.

Marvelous Nakamba was proving to be Villa’s best player under Gerrard, prior to his injury, whilst Douglas Luiz has had an up and down time during this campaign.

The Midlands side seemingly need a bit more presence and physicality in midfield that can protect the centre-backs when their fullbacks are bombing forward.

And to allow their attack-minded forwards to thrive, do more work on the ball, rather than having to do a lot off it.

One Villa youngster, in Jacob Ramsey, is already smashing his way through and there is no reason why Iroegbunam cannot add his name to the towering list of youngsters thriving on B6 soil.
