Nottingham Forest’s young goalkeeper Tim Erlandsson has been discussing his time at the City Ground since he made a move to England.

Erlandsson joined Nottingham Forest from Halmstads in 2015 and is highly-rated in his homeland. He had a short spell on loan at Barrow last season and went to the Olympic Games with Sweden in Brazil last summer.

He headed out on loan back to his homeland in January, joining newly promoted AFC Eskilstuna.

Speaking to the Swedish media this week, ahead of the European Under-21 Championships with Sweden, he admitted that whilst the facilities at Forest have him impressed, life at the club has been difficult at times. He told Expressen:

“It’s a completely different thing. It is quite other facilities, to play on the fantastic greens all the time. Football is so big in the UK. It’s awesome to have experienced it in the here just over two years.

“I feel I have grown as a person and keeper.

“It’s tough. Only in the two years I’ve been there it’s been four coaches of the first team and there has been much other changes in the organization. So it’s a tough environment, it’s about getting results and the club wants to go up in the Premier League. So the demands are high.”

Erlandsson, who will be hoping to face England for his nation at the U-21 Championships in Poland on Friday, has certainly had it tough with his loan club – who are bottom of the Swedish Allsvenskan and have not yet won a game this season.

His deal at the club ends in November at which point he will be hoping to get on the radar Mark Warburton, or whoever the Forest manager is at the time, and earn himself some first-team football at the City Ground.
