Scottie Scheffler returns to the course this week for the Hero World Challenge, an event put on by Tiger Woods.
Scheffler is no stranger to success here, having won back-to-back titles in 2023 and 2024. The tournament is held at Albany Golf Course in The Bahamas.
Woods has five wins at the Hero World Challenge, though he will not be part of this year’s field.
This time around, only 20 players are competing. Scheffler, the world number one, will be joined by familiar names like Keegan Bradley and Jordan Spieth.
Tiger Woods describes Scottie Scheffler as ‘amazing’ ahead of the Hero World Challenge

Even though he is not in the field, Tiger still made his presence felt ahead of Thursday’s opening round.
And it was no surprise to hear him speak highly of Scheffler. The 15-time major winner did not shy away from praising the Dallas native.
“There is nothing that you can not like about Scottie. He is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. What he is doing on the course is incredible. The consistency day in and day out.
“The strategy and how he attacks a golf course. You can see him analyse it from the green back, where the flag is, what club he wants to hit, where the wind is, what side of the tee box he is going to start off on.
“It’s truly amazing how thoughtful and how strategic he is throughout the entire round. On top of that he doesn’t have lapses like most players do. He is there, present, for all 18 holes and all shots played and that’s hard to do.
“To do that day in and day out with the gruelling schedule that the tour has and the players are playing now, in more of a condensed season and they are big events he is playing in.
“He has won six times and they are not small events. He is beating the best fields. That is something I can appreciate and I hope that everyone else appreciates it as well, because you don’t see that happening very often.”
What Tiger Woods admires most about Scottie Scheffler’s game
Scheffler has been the dominant force in golf for quite a while now, drawing comparisons to Woods during his own peak years.
The world number one picked up six victories on the PGA Tour this season, doubling the total of any other player on tour.
Speaking about what part of Scheffler’s game stands out to him, Woods said: “I truly love watching him hit irons.
“The shots that he hits, the trajectory and the window changes that he has. The distance control and miss in the proper spot. The proper spin to certain pin locations.
“These are subtle things that mean a lot over the course of 72 holes. That to me is impressive. If you don’t have trajectory control then you can’t have distance control.
“To see him move it up and down in different windows and use wind, fight wind and control spin is fun to watch.”
Scheffler’s iron play has been a huge factor in his success, highlighted by his two major wins in 2025.
The American added both the PGA Championship and The Open Championship titles this year, taking his career total to four major victories.
