Paul Merson has said on Sky Sports News (5:30pm, September 18, 2021) that Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney never lets his team down.
The former Arsenal star made the comments while analysing the Gunners’ 1-0 win against Burnley away from home at Turf Moor in the Premier League yesterday.
The Sky Sports pundit was impressed by the performance of Arsenal left-back Tierney.
The Englishman has also praised Arsenal central defender Gabriel for his performance in the win.
Merson said on Sky Sports News (5:30pm, September 18, 2021): “Gabriel done very well, headed everything away. Tierney never lets you down.”
How did Kieran Tierney play against Burnley?
Tierney is one of the best left-backs in the Premier League and is one of the first names on the Arsenal teamsheet.
The 24-year-old has been unlucky with injury problems during his time at Arsenal so far, but when fit and available, the former Celtic star has shown his quality.
Against Burnley on Saturday, Tierney played well defensively and tried his best while going on the attack.
Burnley were very good in the air defensively, and that did affect Tierney’s deliveries from the left.
Tierney had a pass accuracy of 71.4%, took 44 touches, made five clearances, and put in three crosses against Burnley.
