A new contract appears all but signed at Everton but that will not stop the Chinese Super League throwing money at Lukaku.

For the most part, the Chinese Super League attends to attract a certain crowd. From Gervinho to Ezequiel Lavezzi, Jackson Martinez to even Oscar, most of their mega money, marquee signings moved to the Far East when their career in Europe appeared to be stalling.

Romelu Lukaku, therefore, hardly fits in to the typical demographic. Yet, that will not stop Tianjin Quanjin coach Fabio Cannavaro from trying to tempt him away from Goodison Park, Het Nieuwsblad reports.

The newly promoted side have hardly hid their desire to add a world class centre-forward to their ranks though Cannavaro, to his credit, does not appear to have stumbled across a ‘kid in a candy shop’ approach to the transfer market despite the unlimited funds at his disposal.

Despite making a world record £90 million bid for Chelsea’s Diego Costa, the Daily Mail reports, the 2006 Ballon D’Or winner rejected both Radamel Falcao and Wayne Rooney as they apparently don’t fit into Tianjin’s style of play, as claimed by Goal. Yes, apparently these clubs do consider tactics.

However, it appears that Lukaku fits the bill.

“It is possible to speak with Lukaku,” Cannavaro told Het Nieuwsblad. “The problem is Everton, who don’t want to let him go.

“The fact that he is only 23 years old is not the concern. He could very well come to China. Look at Oscar. At 25, he left Chelsea for Shanghai SIPG.”

However, with the Daily Mail reporting that a new deal worth £100,000 a week has been agreed at Everton, coupled with Lukaku’s desire to reach the top of the world game, its unlikely his focus will be dimmed by a briefcase full of banknotes.
