Ryan Giggs has stated that he is ‘excited’ to see Neco Williams in action after he called up the Liverpool man to his Wales squad for the first time, as he told Sky Sports News (25/08/20 at 2:05 pm).
Williams had a breakthrough campaign during the recently concluded campaign, as he earned some valuable game time behind Liverpool’s first-choice right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold.
There’s no doubt that Williams will only improve from here on in because playing on the international stage will add more experience and quality to his legs.
Nonetheless, following Williams’ call-up, Giggs shared his thoughts on the player, who he will be working with during these coming weeks.
“Every time he has played for Liverpool, through gritted teeth, I have said ‘well done’,” Giggs chuckled.
“But, no, as I say, he is at a big club. He’s under one of the best managers about, so I am excited to see him, both train and then play for his country.”

Williams will be working with some top-quality players now he is on the international stage, most notably Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale and Juventus’ Aaron Ramsey.
But it won’t faze him because of who he has been working with on a regular basis at Melwood, as his call-up is no doubt deserved.
Not only that, but Williams can also begin the road in trying to make Giggs’ first-team plans and be on that plane for when Wales go to the postponed Euro 2020 next summer.
