2021 has been quite the year for Arsenal’s young stars.
Yes, the Gunners haven’t enjoyed the best 12 months, they’ve not won a trophy and they finished 8th in the Premier League, but if there is one positive to take away from this year it’s the emergence of some young talent at the Emirates.
Indeed, Emile Smith Rowe has earned his first England call-up for his performances with the Gunners, while Gabriel Martinelli has recently been showing us all just how good he is.
2021 has certainly been a great year for Arsenal’s youngsters, and there’s no reason why 2022 can’t be the same.
With that in mind, we’re going to look at three young Gunners who could break through next year.
Charlie Patino

Perhaps the most obvious entry into this list is Charlie Patino, but his debut goal against Sunderland showed just a glimpse of what he’s capable of.
After the game against the Black Cats, fans were comparing Patino to the likes of Luka Modric and Phil Foden – and you don’t get that level of praise unless you’re something special.
The young midfielder has been touted as the best player to ever walk through the doors at Hale End, and he may well begin to show his ability in 2022.
Omari Hutchinson

Omari Hutchinson may have been on some Arsenal fans’ radars from a very young age.
Five years ago, when Hutchinson was just 13, a video went viral on YouTube of a very young Hutchinson showing off his skills, and now, he’s beginning to fulfil the potential he showed in that video.
Indeed, the teenage winger is ripping up the PL2 this season, grabbing four goals and five assists in 11 appearances.
At just 18, he has so much time to improve, but if he continues to grow at this rate, it may not be long before Mikel Arteta gives him a chance.
Mika Biereth

Folarin Balogun may be the biggest name striker in the Arsenal U23s, but Mika Biereth may be the forward with the most potential.
Biereth arrived at Arsenal from Fulham in the summer, and it’s not hard to see why the Gunners moved for him.
At Fulham he was absolutely electric in the U18s, he grabbed 21 goals and 21 assists in the U18 Premier League last year, while he already has six goals and three assists in the PL2 this term.
With Eddie Nketiah, Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang all facing uncertain futures in north London, don’t be shocked if Biereth gets a chance in the first-team in the not so distant future.
