Tottenham Hotspur are expected to be fairly busy during this summer’s transfer window.

Despite their recent disappointment, Spurs have enjoyed a tremendously successful campaign on the whole, and Mauricio Pochettino has undoubtedly brought progression, along with innovative thinking, to the club during his tenure.
The next step for Tottenham will be to win some major honours – something that is easier said than done with today’s game more competitive than it ever has been, both domestically and on the continent.
And in order to catapult themselves amongst Europe’s elite, it could be argued they they need to add even more quality to their already strong squad, which will obviously not come cheap.
Jamie Redknapp explained how he feels Spurs need an ‘X factor’ signing this summer, in order for the club to move forward, as quoted by Sky Sports.
With that in mind, here are three options who could bring some excitement to the club next season:
Alvaro Morata, Real Madrid:
The 24-year-old Spanish striker is one of Europe’s most lethal front-men, but his lack of regular first team football at the Bernabeu could open the door for Tottenham to make a move this summer.
He has scored 15 goals in 24 La Liga appearances for Los Blancos this term, with 11 of those outings coming from the bench. He is strong, quick along the ground, and clinical when presented with a goalscoring opportunity.
Morata would be the perfect partner for Harry Kane, but only if Pochettino decides on playing two up front. If the Argentine persists in playing a lone striker, however, there would be little sense in signing Morata, with neither him nor Kane likely to be content with a place on the substitutes bench.

Marek Hamsik, Napoli:
At 29, the Slovakian might not fit the typical profile of a Pochettino signing. He is unbelievably talented, however, and maybe that extra experience and class is precisely what Spurs need.
He has been his usual brilliant self for Napoli this season, scoring 11 goals and chipping in with nine assists in 35 Serie A appearances thus far.
He is one of the finest attacking play-makers on the continent, and would help elevate Tottenham to an entirely new level, if they brought him to the club this summer.

Marco Reus, Borussia Dortmund:
The 27-year-old German has all the attributes needed to sprinkle a little bit of magic on the Spurs side.
Despite his struggles with injury, he has put together a more consistent run of games of late, and he has looked to be at his blistering best.
He can play anywhere along the front line, which would appeal to Pochettino, what with his penchant for tactical fluidity.
His contract with Dortmund does not expire until the summer of 2019, so he would still command a fairly extortionate transfer fee.
However, if Tottenham are to truly elevate themselves amongst Europe’s elite, they need to start making some statement signings, which will serve as a reminder to the teams in and around them that they mean business.
