As Wolves try to get their season back on track, two huge games against Newcastle United at St James’ Park are to come in the next week.

Coming off the back of a depleting 4-0 home defeat against Barnsley, Wolves are looking to immediately bounce back in their push for the top six. With so many influential players set to feature for the club over the next few weeks it seems odd to dwindle it down, but these three could be set to make a huge impact.

Joe Mason

Mason isn’t someone an outsider looking in would necessarily put in this category, as the bigger name transfers tend to grab most of the headlines. However, he’s started the season off brilliantly with two goals to his name as well as a string of successful performances.

He tends to find himself playing in an advanced forward position, and from there he’s able to create a bundle of chances for the stars around him. He’s comfortable on the ball and he’s got a strong level of experience whilst still being relatively young. He could prove to be a big impact player on Saturday.

Jon Dadi Bodvarsson

Since arriving at Molineux, Bodvarsson has been lauded as the signing of the summer by many given some of his early performances. His hold up play, finishing ability and all-round work ethic have been praised as being important assets for the club so far this season.

He looks set to be someone who thrives in a pressure-filled environment, and he’ll have no fear when coming up against the Newcastle back four this weekend.

Richard Stearman

Whether it be for better or for worse, Richard Stearman will be someone to look out for at St James’ Park. He had an indifferent first game back following his move from Fulham, but when it comes to the big games the defender knows how to put in a game-winning display.

If he can keep his focus and enforce his natural leadership on the rest of the starting XI, then Wolves will be in with a great shot of keeping the Newcastle forwards at bay.
