Tony Pulis is under pressure at the Hawthorns and there are players who may benefit from his departure.

West Bromwich Albion fans have grown frustrated with Tony Pulis, with the Baggies on a run of nine games without a win.

The style of football is also a major issue with supporters fed up off their teams lack of ambition in attack.

Often, a change of voice can inject new life into a team and there are a handful of players in the Baggies dressing room who look like they need just that.

Nacer Chadli

West Brom’s record signing Nacer Chadli has started just twice this season. All hasn’t seemed well between Pulis and Chadli since the summer when the pair allegedly fell out as reported in the Daily Telegraph.

Pulis told the The Birmingham Mail that the Belgian’s absence was down to fitness however he started both of Belgium’s international matches this week.

Chadli netted five goals last season and scored a beautiful free-kick against Leicester City last month. He is the creative player the fans have been craving to see but his relationship with Pulis appears to be fractured and change may be needed for him.

Matt Phillips

Scottish winger Matt Phillips has struggled for form this season. He’s found himself in and out of the starting XI, having only began six of West Brom’s 11 games.

He was on the bench against Huddersfield Town and only brought on after the Terriers’ red card. Pulis has been playing a 3-5-2 formation with Allan Nyom and Kieran Gibbs favoured as wing back’s instead of out and out wide man Phillips. A change of manager may bring a change of system more to Phillips’ liking.

Salomon Rondon

Salomon Rondon has also struggled to nail down a starting place in recent weeks. Pulis has preferred Rodriguez and Hal Robson-Kanu lately.

Rondon hasn’t quite set the world a light since his £12m move from Zenit St Petersburg. He’s often cut a frustrated figure, playing with his back to goal and holding the ball up.

A more direct manager may see Rondon re-discover his goal-scoring form from his days in Russia.

He’s netted just two goals in all competitions in 2017-18.
