Tottenham Hotspur have suffered a blow ahead of their Champions League clash with Apoel Nicosia on Tuesday night, with Christian Eriksen being ruled out through illness.

The Danish midfielder hasn’t travelled with the squad, and with Dele Alli also out through suspension, Mauricio Pochettino will have to reshuffle his pack.

So, how could Tottenham Hotspur line up?

4-2-3-1

By using Harry Kane as the lone striker, Pochettino could field an attacking set up using Son, Sissoko and Kévin Nkoudou behind the England striker.

Sissoko has the ability and energy to drop deep at times, and it shouldn’t be a problem for Spurs to keep possession, with Dier and Winks both capable in the middle of the park.

3-5-2

Pochettino can use Juan Foyth alongside Sanchez and Alderweireld in a three-man defence. Aurier and Davies could operate as wing backs. Son could play as a second forward slightly behind Kane, or else Pochettino can use Llorente alongside Kane as well.

Note: Son could be used instead of Llorente as well.

4-3-3

Pochettino can use a 4-3-3 system as well, using Sissoko, Dier and Winks in the three-man midfield, and Son and Nkoudou supporting Kane from wide areas.

Tottenham line-up

APOEL have lost five of their last nine Champions League ties at home. Spurs need to improve their away record as well, having won just two of their last eight away games in the Champions League.
