Leeds United star Ben White had another game to remember.

Second time lucky, Ben White has his first career win at Elland Road for Leeds United.

The Brighton loanee couldn’t have picked a better game either, with the man he replaced at Leeds on the opposing team.

White’s performance compared favourably with Brentford defender Pontus Jansson.

Jansson did well enough to contain Patrick Bamford, but he could not prevent Eddie Nketiah scoring Leeds’ winner.

– White made SEVEN interceptions compared to Jansson’s two.

– White blocked a goalbound Brentford shot, Jansson didn’t block any.

– White made 73 passes for Leeds, while Jansson made only 12 for Brentford

Jansson’s departure came as a big shock for Leeds fans and there was outrage at both how cheaply the club sold him and the fact he was permitted to join a rival.

White’s arrival at Leeds didn’t make nearly as many headlines, but his performances have.

He was integral in Leeds shutting down Brentford’s attacks last night and keeping a second clean sheet in a row.

It would be disrespectful to say ‘Pontus who?’ given all he gave for Leeds, but White is certainly ensuring the gap left by his departure has been adequately filled.
