Three Watford stars West Ham could target if they appoint Quique Flores

West Ham have been linked to former Watford boss.

West Ham have been linked with a move to appoint Quique Flores as a potential replacement for under pressure boss Slaven Bilic, Spanish newspaper Sport report.

Flores has managed in the Premier League before with Watford, leading them to a respectable 13th placed finish.

Here is a look at three Watford players Flores could look to sign if he is given the job at West Ham…

Troy Deeney

Watford’s talisman, Deeney was a key player under Flores at Watford, forming an impressive partnership alongside the now sold Odion Ighalo.

If West Ham could get rid of Andy Carroll, the funds could be put towards signing a striker like Deeney who does not have the injury problems, and remains a regular goalscorer at Premier League level.

The 29-year-old has been used mainly from the bench this season and could be tempted away by the promise of a starting spot.

Craig Cathcart

Northern Ireland international defender Craig Cathcart is another who is out of of favour at Watford at present, making just one league appearance.

The 28-year-old centre-back would add depth to the West Ham squad and could be signed at a knock-down price.

Costel Pantilimon

West Ham currently only have Joe Hart on loan, and should consider signing his old Manchester City deputy Costel Pantilimon.

The 6ft 8″ goalkeeper is currently on loan at Spanish side Deportivo La Coruna and Watford would be hard pressed to snub a permanent offer for a player who is not in their immediate plans.
