Watford’s squad, and perhaps the dugout too, is likely to look quite different next season.
The makeup of Watford’s team huddle changes markedly from season to season
With their Premier League status secured for another season, Watford’s hierarchy will no doubt already have one eye on the summer transfer window.
Player turnover is typically high for the Hornets, so with that in mind here are three players who look surplus to requirements at Vicarage Road.
Juan Camilo Zuniga
A player with a lot of pedigree, having played more than 50 times for Colombia and been a regular at Napoli for a number of years, signing Zuniga looked like a coup in the summer.
However it hasn’t gone as you might have expected with him only making six Premier League starts despite playing under a previous manager with whom he evidently has a good relationship.
Juan Camilo Zuniga hasn’t lived up to his reputation in a Watford shirt
If Mazzarri is replaced, the new boss may have even less use for him.
Ben Watson
The season started in ignominious fashion for Watson as he was sent off in Watford’s first game and he’s only made three substitute appearances in the league since.

Tom Cleverley’s permanent arrival will surely spell the end for Watson, who has another year left on his current contract.
Brice Dja Djedje
The Ivorian has had a tough time with injuries and that appears the main reason for his struggles since moving from Olympique Marseille, but his omission from the Hornets’ 25-man squad for the second half of the season doesn’t stand him in good stead moving forward.
It’s possible that with a full pre-season he could go on to feature heavily next year, but both parties agreeing to cut their losses feels more likely.
