Although Tottenham ended up having a decent window, there are some issues yet to be resolved.

The summer transfer window didn’t start for a long-long time for Tottenham, but from the time Davinson Sanchez arrived, things went quite smoothly for the North London club. The club went on to add four more players to their roster – Paulo Gazzaniga, Juan Foyth, Serge Aurier and Fernando Llorente capping off a very decent window.
But the club might regret not being able to get other mooted transfers over the line this summer. Keeping that in mind, here’s a look at the three biggest regrets for Tottenham from this transfer window:

#3 Andre Gomes
The deadline day was turning out to be quite the happy ending for Spurs’ fans, as they secured deals for Serge Aurier, Fernando Llorente and were a whisker away from a deal for Barcelona’s Andre Gomes. If Sport are to be believed, Mauricio Pochettino was interested in two Barcelona midfielders this window, but neither of the two moves materialized.
According to Daily Mail, Barcelona eventually blocked the move for Andre Gomes because they couldn’t push through a move for Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho. Gomes offers something different to all the midfield options that are available to the manager at the moment, and with the number of games they’re likely to play this season, the Portuguese could have been a brilliant player to have on the teamsheet.

The suspicion was that Tottenham didn’t want a striker, with Harry Kane and Vincent Janssen on the books. But, as they eventually signed Fernando Llorente, it became apparent that Pochettino was in the market for a striker.
Before his £16 million move to West Ham, Hernandez was linked with a move to the North London side (by the Metro), but an offer never materialized. You only need to watch the two goals against Southampton to see what Chicharito would have brought to Tottenham, and his experience of winning the League in England could have been invaluable for the runners up from last season.

#1 A winger
The shift to Wembley for Spurs has been a thankless one so far, and one the dominating themes of their games so far at the stadium has been their lack of pace and width in the attacking third. It seemed inevitable that Tottenham would eventually sign someone who would provide exactly that, and they were linked to players like Riyad Mahrez (as reported by the Sun) and Demarai Gray (as reported by the Mirror).
