Tottenham Hotspur have plenty more youngsters waiting in the wings for a chance.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino continued the tradition of giving the club’s next generation a chance when Kazaiah Sterling came off the bench against APOEL Nicosia earlier this month.

With Luke Amos also included in the match day squad, it is clear the Spurs boss has no intention of swaying from the tradition he has embraced to great effect in recent years, and there will be more waiting in the wings in 2018.

Here we take a look at three Tottenham youngsters who will be hoping to make their mark next year.

Marcus Edwards

The most obvious choice first, and yet one that continues to be overlooked by Pochettino, Marcus Edwards will be hoping that 2018 can be his year after a few false starts.

The 18-year-old has been deemed not yet ready by the Tottenham boss but if he continues to tear it up for the under-23s and in the UEFA Youth League, he can only be ignored for so long.

Keanan Bennetts

Keanan Bennetts is predominantly a left winger although he can also operate to good effect as a full-back, and the 18-year-old could well make his breakthrough in the next 12 months.

Long tipped for big things, the exciting wide player has made the left-back position his own at under-19 and under-23 level this season and it will be interesting to see where and when he gets his Spurs chance.

Samuel Shashoua

Fellow winger Samuel Shashoua does his best work on the right and he has scored and created his fair share for Tottenham’s under-18s, before moving up to the second string.

Of the three players listed here, he could be the furthest away from a first-team opportunity but, if he keeps working hard, it will come
