It is time to be first-choice
For too long Johnstone has been the perennial loanee and while he may be holding out for a future starting spot at United, the presence of David de Gea and Sergio Romero makes that all but impossible.
He could move to another top flight club but would he be first-choice from the outset at any of the other interested clubs?

Villa took a chance on Johnstone when they brought him in on loan and he should reward that faith.
Bruce stuck by him during a shaky start to life at Villa Park and now both men are reaping the rewards.
Villa can be massive once more with Bruce at the helm and Johnstone should tag along for the ride.
