Liverpool, Chelsea, and Manchester United players all got on the scoresheet this weekend, including two long awaited strikes for Fernando Torres.
It was back to scoring ways for Chelsea’s Spanish striker against Leicester City – bagging his first goals in more than 25 hours of football.
His first one may have been a scuffed effort into the corner, but who cares- it was exactly what the confidence-shy forward needed.
He showed that his goals were like buses, after waiting almost forever to score, two goals popped along at once.
But he was not the only maligned played to find the net this weekend, with Liverpool’s Stewart Downing scoring against Stoke City, also in the FA Cup, although the £20 million winger is still to score in the league.
Manchester United defender Jonny Evans also built on his impressive 2012 form, finishing expertly to bag the opener in the 5-0 rout at Wolves.
We want you to let us know which one of the three surprised you the most, by voting in our quick poll.
Who were you more surprised to see score this weekend?
If this surprise run keeps up, then Arsenal’s Marouane Chamakh is odds onto score for Arsenal on Wednesday night, while equally unlikely scorers who could net in midweek include Andy Carroll, and a potentially returning Carlos Tevez.
Which out of form forward would most surprise you by scoring this week? Is Torres about to finally come good?
