Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp could be looking to sign a new striker in the summer.
Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette
Liverpool should be looking to sign a top striker in the summer.
Daniel Sturridge has cut a sorrow figure with his recurrent injuries, and chances are high that he would be sold in the summer.
Danny Ings has been really unfortunate with his injuries, while Divock Origi has not done enough to warrant a regular starting berth.
Roberto Fimino has been used as a false number nine, mainly for tactical reasons, but surely it cannot be a long term solution, especially when Liverpool are expected to play Champions League football next season.
Therefore, Klopp needs a top class striker in his rank. Here are three potential candidates he should take a look at during the summer:
Alexandre Lacazette – Lyon
The 25-year-old has been linked with a move to the Premier League for a while now. He has played all his career at Lyon, and now the time is right for him to move elsewhere.
For the third consecutive season, he has scored over 20 league goals. A physically strong player, he would be a superb addition to the Reds squad.
Alejandro Gomez – Atalanta
The 29-year-old is one of the main architects behind Atalanta’s dramatic rise. While heavyweight Premier clubs are seemingly interested in his teammate Franck Kessie, Liverpool would be wise to move for Gomez.
The best part about his game is his versatility. He can play as an attacking midfielder and also as a forward. His 14 goals and eight assists in the league proves his exceptional quality – the numbers speak for his class.
Nicolai Jørgensen – Feyenoord
The Denmark striker has been the top scorer in Eredivisie this season with 19 goals. But, where he has really impressed is in his willingness to create chances for others. A reason why he has managed to provide 11 assists.
He is 26 and gradually developing into a top player. A healthy wage offer and Champions League football should be enough to lure him away from Netherlands.
