Leeds desperately need a striker after injuries to Patrick Bamford and Kemar Roofe.

Injuries to Patrick Bamford and now Kemar Roofe have left Marcelo Bielsa with little option up front as Leeds United prepare to face Millwall at The Den on Saturday afternoon.

Bamford has been ruled out for four months with a posterior cruciate ligament injury, while Roofe has received a knock which is enough to rule him out of Saturday’s clash. The lack of options should convince Bielsa another player is needed.

Tyler Roberts is expected to deputise up front, but the free agent market could be considered. Here are three freebies Leeds could consider to cover their lack of options up top.

Lacina Traore

Amiens' Ivorian forward Lacina Traore reacts during the French L1 football match between Nantes and Amiens on February 24, 2018 at the Beaujoire stadium in Nantes, western France.

Target man Traore, 28, is a free agent after leaving Monaco in the summer after his £10million move to Monaco from Russian side Anzhi in 2014 ended in failure.

Loans to Amiens, CSKA Moscow, Sporting Gijon and even Everton failed to impress Monaco, despite scoring 11 goals in 35 games for the French giants. At 6ft 7in, he could give Leeds an added source of fire power.

Modibo Maiga

Modibo Maiga of West Ham United in action during the Barclays Premier League match between West Ham United and AFC Bournemouth on August 22, 2015 in London, United Kingdom.

The 59-time Mali international is likely to be best known to English fans for his spell with West Ham that lasted three years between 2012 and 2015, incorporating a loan to QPR.

He scored seven goals in 45 games for West Ham, being used more out wide. Now older at 31, he has moved into the centre-forward role and is a free agent after his contract with UAE side Ajman expired despite 10 goals in 19.

Victor Anichebe

Victor Anichebe of Sunderland comes out for warm up during the Premier League match between Sunderland and Swansea City at Stadium of Light on May 13, 2017 in Sunderland, England.

Well known to English football, 30-year-old Anichebe has played for Everton, Sunderland and West Brom, before last turning out in China for Beijing Enterprises.

Back in August, Anichebe endeared himself to Leeds fans by commenting on Kemar Roofe’s Instagram that he wants the Whites to go up, describing them as a “massive club”. Now, he would be a welcome addition in their promotion fight.
