Quinn, who spent seven years at Sheffield United, has spent much of Reading’s impressive campaign sidelined.

Sheffield United are homing in on a return to the Championship after six years away.
The League One leaders moved 11 points clear of third place with a win at Oxford United on Tuesday, and though manager Chris Wilder has constructed a clearly talented side at Bramall Lane, next season could the first for many above the third tier – not least Wilder himself.
For the Sheffield native, supplementing what he already has with a touch of higher-level quality will be high on the agenda, and a familiar face could be ideal.
Stephen Quinn spent seven years at Bramall Lane, before being lured away in 2012 by a Hull City side chasing promotion to the Premier League, the division in which he spent the next two campaigns before moving to Reading.
And though another ascent could be on the cards this time around, it is unlikely that Quinn’s services will be required should the Royals make it up.
Missing since September with a knee injury, the Irishman had only started three games before then anyway and with his contract up in 2018, it would be little surprise if the Berkshire side moved him on this summer to avoid losing him for nothing.

United, therefore, are unlikely to have to push the boat out too much to bring back the 30-year-old, who has directly contributed to a goal every five games at Championship level.
