Tottenham Hotspur beat the Cherries 5-1 on Sunday afternoon.
Harry Kane
This was a huge confidence booster for Harry Kane.
The 22-year-old was handed plenty of his chances on a plate – mainly by Bournemouth goalkeeper Artur Boruc. But Kane still did the business when he needed to and, at the end of the day, no striker is going to refuse to a chance just because it’s come to him easily.
The Tottenham forward also linked up well with Christian Eriksen and it’s often not how you score them but simply the fact you’ve netted. A hat-trick was just what the doctor ordered for Kane after only one Premier League goal before the Bournemouth game.
Christian Eriksen
The Dane was superb against Bournemouth, utilising space brilliantly and always finding a team-mate with a cutting pass.
Without the 23-year-old’s creativity, Kane would have been very isolated indeed up top. And the rest of the Tottenham side would also have been grateful for Eriksen’s presence. He has proven that he’s hitting form – now how far can he go?
Toby Alderweireld
Criticised for his role alongside Eric Dier during Anderlecht’s winner in the Europa League on Thursday night, Toby Alderweireld impressed against Bournemouth going forward as well as defensively.
At the back, the Belgian was hardly troubled by the Cherries but it was in attack that Alderweireld made himself felt.
The centre-back was commanding in the air and helped with one of the goals. He looks a threat during every attacking set-piece.
