Tottenham Hotspur ran riot against the Blues and here are three of their stars who made bold statements to Mauricio Pochettino and the fans.

Danny Rose

Oft-slated this season for his performances, especially from a defensive point of view, Danny Rose was a surprise star for Tottenham against Chelsea on New Year’s Day.

Starting instead of the able Ben Davies, the left-back scored with a superb finish and also registered an assist for the north London side.

As Opta stats show, meanwhile, Rose also won more tackles than any other Tottenham player. Could the 24-year-old have a big role to play this season after all?

Mousa Dembele

Coming on for the injured Ryan Mason, another man to impress for Spurs during the 5-3 victory was Mousa Dembele.

The Belgian has fallen down the pecking order this season, with Mason and Nabil Bentaleb Mauricio Pochettino’s preferred central midfield pairing in recent weeks.

But, after being introduced against Chelsea, Dembele controlled the middle of the park and impressed with some measured passing.

Nacer Chadli

Finally, Dembele’s fellow countryman Nacer Chadli also impressed for Tottenham against the Blues, both scoring and registering an assist for Pochettino’s men.

Chadli has been in form for Spurs this season so his display was less of a surprise. But the winger has still been inconsistent this term and has not quite produced a top performance in a big, big game for the north London side.

That changed against Chelsea, with Chadli being unplayable throughout.
