With a host of young players emerging, we take a look at three Tottenham prodigies looking to make the breakthrough.
Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino
With the Premier League season underway, Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to build upon last season’s third place finish, but manager Mauricio Pochettino will also be looking to continue with the ethos that he holds so dear.
Pochettino is well known for pushing young players on the cusp of the first team through, as it has been shown both at Spurs and at Southampton, and with a crop of youngsters at his disposal at White Hart Lane that any club would be proud of, the question is how many of those will get their opportunities this season.
The Argentine has shown at both clubs that he is not afraid to give youth a chance and in doing so has demonstrated impressive boldness in allowing young players their opportunity to shine, but of all the players currently making their impression on Pochettino, there still remain questions over which players could have the biggest impact.
We take a look at three players currently giving Pochettino reason to ponder.
Marcus Edwards
Of all the young players currently making waves at Spurs it is Marcus Edwards who has people talking the most, having been identified as one of the brightest young talents emerging according to The Guardian.
Edwards is arguably the brightest prospects coming through the youth set-up and the potential is there for all to see thanks to his performances throughout pre-season.

Quick on the ball, with an eye for dribbling, the 17-year-old showed his soaring potential against Juventus and Atletico Madrid in the International Champions Cup.
In fact, Edwards’ stock is rising so fast at Spurs’ he has on more than one occasion been dubbed a wonderkid, thanks in part to his 30-minute cameo against Juventus.
Cameron Carter-Vickers
Like Edwards, Cameron Carter-Vickers is rapidly on the rise at White Hart Lane after a pre-season that saw him play against Juventus and Atletico Madrid.
Against Juve, Carter-Vickers, playing alongside Dominic Ball, had a tough time of it, with Spurs conceding two goals, but it was clear from his performance that the potential is there in abundance.
The 18-year-old reiterated his potential against Atletico, where he put in an assured performance and held his own against a tough Spanish side.

But Carter-Vickers has been earmarked as a bright young talent coming through for a sustained period, and may be the reason why Spurs feel they no longer need the services of Federico Fazio. In fact the young defender looked so good in pre-season he continued his run in the team when Spurs beat Inter Milan 6-1 in a friendly in Norway in early August.
Shayon Harrison
Harrison has been talked about as an emerging talent at Spurs for quite some time now, and that has come in part due to the young forward training with the first team back in February as the club prepared for a Europa League tie against Fiorentina as reported by The London Evening Standard.
In fact, the noises that Harrison was making back in February are nothing compared to the noise that is currently being made by the 19-year-old after coming on as a substitute in the 6-1 demolition of Inter Milan in an August friendly.
The rise of Harrison could be the explanation as to why Pochettino has felt the need not to rush in to buying cover for Harry Kane in the forward position, given that Harrison could be earmarked as a possible option other than summer signing Vincent Janssen.
With all three players looking to try to impress Pochettino at every given opportunity, the future is certainly looking bright.
