On the whole, it has been a progressive season for Everton under boss Ronald Koeman, who has helped to steer the Merseyside club into a Europa League spot.
Essentially they finished as high as anyone could have expected in seventh and although it will be a challenge, Everton’s ambitious new owners will be looking at a top four spot in the long term, emulating what Spurs have done in recent years.
This means that what they do in the summer transfer window will be key. One of the players linked is former Barcelona hotshot Sandro Ramirez, who only joined Malaga on a free transfer almost 12 months ago.

The Spaniard has scored 16 goals and laid on five assists in 31 appearances, across all competitions this season and has attracted a number of clubs, including Everton according to the Independent. With a £5.1 million release clause, he could turn out to be a shrewd signing while also helping Koeman’s side launch a top four assault.
Another player who has been linked to the Toffees recently is Real Madrid centre back Diego Llorente. The defender spent last season on loan at Malaga and his performances have caught the eye.

According to the Daily Star, Spanish media outlet Marca have reported that Everton are prepared to pay £12 million for his services. Historically, Everton have a good record when it comes to signing defenders, so Llorente could be a shrewd signing.
Another player, who has attracted Everton’s interest is Swansea City’s Gylfi Sigurdsson. Whether he would be a replacement for Ross Barkley, the Iceland international has performed better this season with nine goals and 13 assists (38 Premier League games) compared to Barkley’s five goals and nine assists (36 Premier League games).

The Liverpool Echo report that Everton are interested and could be willing to pay up to £25 million for the player who can make a considerable difference to the Toffees’ attacking play.
Koeman has always been ambitious and landing these signings, will definitely go some way to ensuring that Everton can push on next season and beyond.
