The former West Bromwich Albion boss looks set to take over at Crystal Palace.

Roy Hodgson looks on during a Melbourne City A-League training session at City Football Academy on April 19, 2017 in Melbourne, Australia.

Reports suggest the former England, Liverpool, West Brom and Fulham boss Roy Hodgson is set to become the new manager of Crystal Palace.

The 70-year-old has managed his fair share of players since returning to English football a decade ago – could any of them feature on his Selhurst Park wishlist?

HITC Sport has picked out three of the more realistic targets:

Jack Wilshere – Arsenal

Jack Wilshere of Arsenal reacts during the Premier League 2 match between Arsenal v Manchester City at Emirates Stadium on August 21, 2017 in London, England.

When fit, Wilshere was a regular feature of Hodgson’s England midfield. However, injuries and a subsequent loss of form have seen the Arsenal man lose his international place altogether. Out of contract next summer – and seemingly out of favour at the Emirates – the 25-year-old could make a cut-price move in January.

Shane Long – Southampton

It was Hodgson who gave Long a second chance to impress in the Premier League, signing him at West Brom six years ago. Now a Southampton player, via Hull City, the 30-year-old has yet to start a game in any competition this season and could find his services required at Palace, whose only fit striker is Christian Benteke.

Rickie Lambert – Unattached

BURTON-UPON-TRENT, ENGLAND - October 1: Rickie Lambert of Cardiff City looks on during the Sky Bet Championship match between Burton Albion and Cardiff City at Pirelli Stadium on October...

Given his England debut by Hodgson at pretty much the peak of his powers, Lambert currently finds himself without a club following disappointing spells at West Brom and Cardiff. Though he may be 35, the Liverpudlian could find a second wind under his former boss and would be available immediately.

Would you take any of the above at Crystal Palace?
