James Tavernier of Rangersis seen during the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership match between Rangers and St Johnstone at Ibrox Stadium on December 16, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Rangers’ James Tavernier is wanted by clubs south of the border, according to the Daily Mail. Sunderland and Reading are both said to be chasing the Ibrox right-back, whose sale Rangers are allegedly open to.

But with Lee Hodson Rangers’ only other specialist option in Tavernier’s position, one suspects they would want to sign a replacement in the event of his departure.

Chris Solly [Charlton Athletic] – The 26-year-old was Murty’s understudy during the Ibrox boss’s brief time at Charlton, and has gone on to play 250 times for the Addicks, who are struggling to get out of League One.
