According to a report from German publication Bild, Tottenham are keen on signing Borussia Monchengladbach ace Matthias Ginter this summer.

As things stand, however, Spurs are only prepared to pay £32 million for the 25-year-old, with the Bundesliga side demanding £55 million.

The German is a truly brilliant player, and he would be an excellent addition for Tottenham.

Here’s three reasons why Spurs should just pay up and give Monchengladbach what they want for Ginter…

Versatility

The 25-year-old ace can operate as either a centre-back or a deep-lying midfielder, making his £55 million valuation actually rather reasonable.

Tottenham could end up losing Toby Alderweireld this summer, whilst Victor Wanyama’s future is up in the air, so signing someone who could fulfil both positions would be a really smart move by Mauricio Pochettino.

Experience in playing at the highest level

Ginter has already made 249 club appearances for three clubs in the Bundesliga, and he’s earned 26 international caps for Germany.

This would help him slot seamlessly into the Spurs side.

Imposing physique

Standing at 6ft 2in, the Germany international possesses the kind of physical stature needed to succeed in the Premier League, what with its robust nature.

He loves a physical battle, is strong in the air and tenacious in the tackle.

Ginter really would be a superb addition for Tottenham, and Daniel Levy should just pay Monchengladbach what they want for the German. He’d be totally worth it.
